Research Progress on Quantitative Method for Rumen Microorganism

Abstract

Abstract: There are only 10%～20% microbes being learned form rumen by now. It is the necessary for promoting extensive and intensive research on rumen ecosystem to develop novel research method. This review discuss about the researched progress and their advantage or disadvantage of the quantitative method of traditional (roll-tube technique and most probable number) and modern molecular biology (nucleic acid hybridization, FISH, DGGE, quantification PCR and Flow cytometry).
