Abstract: To observe the anesthetic effect of ketamine in combination with sumianxin Ⅱ in laboratory minipigs,12 laboratory minipigs（11.33 kg±0.83 kg）were anesthetized by using ketamine and sumianxin Ⅱ(0.28 mL/kg，im), and analgesic effect，breathing frequency (BR)，heart rate (HR)，and adverse reaction such as dribbling and disgorging were observed． 100% of the minipigs were anesthetized in （4.2±1.6） min, and anesthetic condition maintained for （87.3±15.4） min. The BR and HR of pigs during operation were stable．The results showed that it was a good anesthesia method using ketamine in combination with sumianxin Ⅱin laboratory minipigs，and the anesthesia process and vital signs were stable. So it is a conveniental and safe method to anesthetize minipigs using ketamine in combination with sumianxin Ⅱ.
