Abstract: In order to explore the surgical methods of kidney stones in dogs, two local hybrid dogs with age of 3 to 5 months, weighing 6 to 10 kg were chosen. Before and after the left kidneys were operated with the sickle-shaped incision, the serum urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine (CRE) of both dogs were measured at once preoperatively and on postoperative 3, 7, 14, 21, 28 days, and their general status, voiding performance, urine characteristics, and kidneys changes were observated. The results show that the renal function of experimental dogs can reduce significantly in 1 to 2 weeks and recover to normality in 3 to 4 weeks. Compared with right healthy kidneys, the left kidneys show different degrees of atrophy.
